I am pleased to share with you the ‘Train-the-trainer Education Team’, led by Prof Henry Chung and Dr. Ray Cheung, together with other faculty members, has been selected to receive the CityU Teaching Excellence Awards 2021/22 for ‘STEAM: Sharing, Training, Empowering, Aspiring, Motivating’. Please join me to give our big round of applause to congratulate Dr Ray on their excellent teaching!

Many Congratulations to our CALAS member, Mr. Shuai YUAN, for his paper acceptance in International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) 2022. The title of the paper is “Melting Snow: A 37-Year (1984-2020) High-Resolution Snow-Glacier-Cover Record of Mt. Kilimanjaro”.

Congratulations to Dr. Yao LIU for he has secured a competitive faculty position, assistant professor in Sun Yat-Sen University, School of Microelectronics in Zhuhai, GBA. Please join us and congratulate this major achievement and milestone.

I am glad to share with you good news that Dr. Ray Cheung has been granted HK$1.49 million by the Gifted Education Fund, Education Bureau for the programme “AIoT Coding, Engineering and Entrepreneurial (AIoT CE2) Skills Education for Gifted Students” which aims to equip the gifted students with the knowledge and skills in solving authentic problems in daily life with AI and IoT. Participating students will also be given the opportunity to showcase their projects at the exhibition and join a start-up project pitching competition. Congratulations, Dr. Ray!

The programme “AIoT Coding and Engineering Skills Education for Gifted Students” has been selected for the Innovative CityU-Learning Awards of Semester A 2021/22. Thanks for the contribution of all members.
