Our hiking activity from Tsuen Wan to Sham Tseng(深井) was held successfully! Special thanks to Gary for coordinating this nice CALAS gathering, and all CALAS members for making your time.

Dr. Ray Cheung has joined the program committee team of Applied Reconfigurable Computing (ARC) 2021. FYI: the website of the Applied Reconfigurable Computing is attached HERE.

Congrats Mehdi. Journal paper submission to Electronics “FPGA-based Neuron Activity Extraction Unit for Wireless Neural Interface” got accepted. It is joint work with our active collaboration with USC.

“Reconfigurable Computing and Hardware Acceleration in Health Informatics”- a book chapter by Dr. Ray and Mehdi is published in a book by Springer International Publishing, Switzerland. The title of the book is “Signal Processing Techniques for Computational Health Informatics”. This book covers a comprehensive and representative range of signal processing techniques used in biomedical applications, including bio-signal origin and dynamics, sensors used for data acquisition, artefact and noise removal techniques, feature extraction techniques in the time, frequency, time-frequency and complexity domain, and image processing techniques in different image modalities.

Congrats Man Kit, nice paper to Workshop on Scalable and Resilient Infrastructures for Distributed Ledgers (SERIAL 2020), got accepted – FPGA-based Consensus in Permissioned Blockchains.
It is a joint work with our partner in Spain.

Dr. David Hu and Guangyan LI (Gavin) have given nice talks this Wednesday(Sept 9, 2020) in CALAS Crypto Seminar Series to around 20 international researchers. The topic of Dr. David Hu’s talk was “Coding Theory used in NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization (Part-I)”.  And the topic of Gavin’s talk was “Sparse-Dense Polynomial Multiplication in Lightweight PQC”. The talks are informative and got many interesting questions from the audience.

We welcome to team Ajita, a new CALAS PhD Candidate. Miss. Ajita Misra received the B.Tech degree in 2018 from SRM University, India in the department of ECE. Later she received her M.Tech. degree in ICT with specialization in VLSI in 2020 from DAIICT, India. She will start the Ph.D. study in CityU EE department in 2020/21.
